March 2012

I am still just terrible at keeping up on the blog but with out lives changing so fast lately I know I need to document these times. To start off March we headed down to Vegas for a good ol' white trash weekend of Nascar with JK's parents. It was so much fun as always. Probably one of the best places to people watch! My favorite part of the day was the fact that I got a funnel cake which I had been craving! YUMM!! Another fun event that we were able to attend was the blue angels which I think that the entire city of st. George attended. It was a blast to be able to spend time with the family

Happy 2012!

wow. So much for my new years resolution of keeping up with the blog better. Here is a quick catch up on what is happening in our lives... the biggest news is that we are expected our first baby in August and it's a BOY! We could not be happier and are so excited for this next part of our lives. I am now in my second semester in the Elementary Education program and because the baby is due in August I will be taking one semester off then will for sure finish my bachelors degree! only one year left! I plan on keeping details about this pregnancy better, but with school and the joys that come along with being pregnant I have not had the time or energy to do so. So hopefully i can do a little better now that I am feeling better.

In January Kacen and Tanya invited us to take a drive on up to Zions with plans on doing a little hike. Little did we know it would be freaking freezing, so it turned more into a drive than a hike but was still fun to take a drive.

The first part of February we were lucky enough to take a trip up to SLC to see my sister and her husband sealed in the temple. It was such an amazing ceremony and we feel so blessed to have been able to attend. I look forward to any time that my whole family can get together.
For Valentines day we spent a wonderful evening at home with a home cooked meal. We did not want to deal with all the people out to eat so I made Chicken Alfredo, cupcakes, and chocolate covered Strawberries. It is so nice to be able to just relax together since life has been so busy. We also decided it was time to take the first "belly" picture. This is at 13 weeks, so not much there yet just a tiny pudge. JK was feeling left out so we took one of his belly too, now we are trying to decide who is actually carrying the baby. haha I am now 17 weeks and will try and post a picture sometime over the next week.

Last weekend we were lucky enough to go down to vegas to see JK race. He raced the road course this time which is way different than the circle track. He had a blast and the weather was so amazing nearly 80 degrees.

December 2011

November must have been an extra busy month, because I do not seem to have a single picture from then. December was also pretty busy with trying to finish up my first semester in the Elementary Education program and JK has been working hard with school and working full time! We were able to sneak away to Pine Valley the weekend with some friends and it was a nice getaway! Utah has not had much snow this year, so JK was in heaven when we happened to get a big snow storm while we were up there. We all had a blast hanging out with friends and playing in the snow. After finals were over we also were able to have our ugly sweater party with our friends. My camera broke so I wasn't able to get any pictures of that. JK's dad got called to be the biship and so he is busy with that a lot! JK's brother brecken also left on his mission on December 21, he will be serving in the Toronto Canada mission and we are so excited for him! Christmas was such a great time, we were able to spend time with both our families, the perks of having them both live in St. George! We are so grateful for all the many blessing we were blessed with this year and we cannot wait to see what 2012 has in store for us! hopefully I will be a better blogger!

Way Behind...October 2011

I turned into such a slacker with the blog once school got into full swing. I didn't realize how time consuming it would all be, so of course my new years resolution is to keep up on our blog this year so I thought I had better fill everyone in on what we did through the rest of the year. In September my mom took me and my sisters and nieces to the taylor swift concert in Salt Lake. It was a very quick trip because I had to be back to school by 730 Thursday morning, but I must admit it was totally worth it! We had so much fun and I love being able to spend time with my family! Next thing that happened was one day JK just decided it could be a good idea to shave his head. I thought he was joking, but next thing I knew he was leaning over the tub shaving it all off! And of course to end out October we had our halloween party with our friends and it was a blast as usual.

The Big 23!

Wow I can't even believe it, JK is now 23 years old! Unfortunately I had school and work, and so did he so we didn't have to much time for partying, but we were able to go out to dinner and open a few presents. We went to wingers for dinner, and then came home and opened presents just the two of us. I got him a new grill and some stuff for work. We celebrated with his family the following Sunday and from his parents he got new camo stuff. From my family he got a new tent, which of course we had to go put it up in our living room! how normally this wouldn't be a big deal, except for we have a little apartment and the tent was a 8 person tent! Anyways it was a pretty relaxed birthday but it was still better than ever. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. He is the light of my life.

Lake Powell round 2 and Little Mermaid

Back in August we were able to go to The Little Mermaid with my whole family. Wow the show was so awesome! It was such a blast to get together with the whole family. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.
Over Labor day we got the chance to head out to Lake Powell for one last trip for the summer! It ended up being just the immediate family this time and it was such a great bonding weekend for us all. It was so relaxing and just a nice little break from our busy schedules now.
